Much thought went in to how to present this page to the millions of people who search through endless literature searching for a diet which is really going to work. We know that if you’re reading this, then what you have tried so far has not succeeded. We also believe that if you’re like most people, you’re fed up of the whole “diet thing” and may even have a slight doubt in the back of your mind about whether this is yet another fad. What we’d therefore like to do, is to strip away all the padding and lay out the basics to let you see exactly how this works:-

we will not ask you to diet - diets are designed to fail!
Many modern diets focus on radical changes to eating behaviour, where the individual is told to refrain from eating certain foods. This method of restraint is not effective as a permanent strategy for the average person because it is based on will power.
Will power can be a very useful tool, because it allows us to temporarily deny ourselves things which we may not need at that moment. It allows us to resist an urge until the urge disappears (i.e. it is gone from our conscious mind). It does so with the rest of our mind in support of it.
However, following a strict food regime may work initially, but it will only work long term if you stick to it forever i.e. if you can use your will power and resist temptation for the remainder of your life.
The problem with that, is that when we deny ourselves something which another part of the mind may believe is important for us, internal conflict begins.

Whilst that part of your mind is happy to be submissive on a short term basis, trying to repress urges becomes much more difficult in the long term, because the part of you which indulges, binges or fasts is being ignored.
Addressing not repressing this part of you is the vital element for positive long lasting change!
This is why a diet is designed to fail. It represses rather than addresses the root cause. Which means you were always destined to fail before you began!!

For most people, this is known as emotional eating; emotional gratification through use of food. It can begin in childhood and can continue throughout our adult life. For the most part, we are completely unaware of the connections and habits we form, but it is these habits, attitudes, feelings and behaviours which lead to the inappropriate use of food to feed our emotions.
Weight control, should be centred around discovery and amendment of these habits, attitudes, feelings and unwanted behaviours that we have formed. Hypnotherapy works with the sub-conscious mind and looks to make a change at this level, where it can really make a difference and is in harmony with every part of your body.
